If you ever get close to LaPine Or, please stop at the State Park there and come check out this huge Tree. Nice little walk to get there.

Think of the stories this tree could tell! It is certainly a giant.

Huge tree! We have Ponderosa pine here in Utah, but I haven't seen one that big.
Since you're starting your trip to Utah in mid-September, you should be just right for the aspens. Try the scenic Alpine Loop drive that begins near American Fork and goes around the east side of Mt. Timpanogas, ending near Sundance ski resort. The aspens are gorgeous there.
You might want to travel hwy 12 between Boulder and Escalante, Ut. Beautiful scenery there, too.
Of course you should visit all of Utah's national parks. Each of them have some lovely trails. You should have beautiful weather in Sept-Oct. I know you'll have fun!

I understand that you are not allowed to go near the tree to protect it but I also want to hug a big tree like that and stand beside it so I can tell how big it is, Maria Berg, Sweden
