Located 9 miles northwest of Mitchell, and 75 miles east of Bend, the Painted Hills are visited year-round. Outdoor exhibits and a picnic area are also available for visitors here.Most years, the peak of wildflower season in late April to early May is spectacu lar. |

My other half, the artist used to be a geologist. This would be right up his street. He always says America is the place for geologists want to study. I can see why. Fascinating and stunning.

The pacific northwest is home to some amazing sites!
Lyme Regis beach in England is our prime location for fossils, you can literally walk along the beach picking them up! I love places like this just so interesting.
I love nature's palace in the last shot. I really like fossils too. In one of my earlier My World posts I have 250 million year old fossilised leaves.

Thank you for bringing them to me. I have been wanting to go there for awhile now but on each of my trips to the Pacific Northwest something unexpected crops up to keep me in WA or north of Baker.
