What does Millican Have to Offer?
Continued from my trip from last week.
This is my World:

Ok so I will tell ya what it has to offer. Your thinking that there is no way there would be an Observatory out here in the desert. Elevation is 6300 ft So bring warm clothes even in the summer But as you drive down this road it will take you to the hills were you will go to the Observatory. Unfortunately it was closed.
And this is what we ran into, Icy roads that we decided that it was only getting worse with not much of a chance to turn around, so we found the first turn out we could and got out of there.
If you click on the photo i think you should be able to read this sign.
I had to take a photo of the mountains, so you see you can see these mountains just about anywhere you go in and around Bend on a clear day. So i went into my archive photos of a few yrs ago and came up with these photos. Here is Nevada on the walk way. It was a beautiful day, and no we did not stay for the night to see the stars.Maybe one of these days we will have to do that.
There is a store there as well. But i think it was closed when we were there, i believe they are only open on the weekends.
And here is the camping area, if you click here it will take you to there website if you didn't already click on the header

I think I would rather drive on that road without ice, altough the white landscape is amazing!
Wow.. that's a nice place!
My World welcomes you here. Have a great day!
Lovely virtual tour. The white of nature's blankets makes the whole are so pretty. You do get a great sense of freedom.
I love little adventures like this. Good thing you turned around. Wouldn't want to get stuck.
Very beautiful scenery. Wow the road looked long and slippery. Love the mountain in the background.

Beautiful place. I love the snow-capped mountains, and it would be interesting to see the horses.
Scenes so well captured...
my eyes got glued to the shots!
Looks like a wonderful drive. Don't you hate going somewhere only to find it close. :-( I would love the see those mustangs running wild.
Great photo's! Its to bad you didn't get to see any of the stars. At least you didn't get stuck on the icy roads. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Looks like our kind of getaway!!! Nice pictures sweetie!hughugs
it looks so isolated. Still, it has its own beauty.

would definitely love to explore that picture-perfect place.
Let me share to you My World thru Cagayan De Oro's Night Cafe.
Very interesting information about Millican. I know someone who might be ineterested in buying the tiny town and forwarded the link on to him! Thanks for sharing!
A great area far and wide one can see, I like that. I think observatories are usually build in remote areas for a unpolluted and clear view.
